Extract from short film where women explore their experiences of anxiety as a group, using the body as a tool for understanding and communication. (2014)


‘The Travellers’
Short film following the disseminated text of a written diary, navigating a troubled state of mind with the attempted soothing rhythms of an almost clockwork group performance. An image of the mind is transported into a pedestrian space, alongside the entrapment created within that of a domestic one. Interspersed amongst the rhythm and the silence is the haunting presence of working life. (2014)


‘Glimpsed a Shadow’
Previously screened as an installation on multiple screens. An exploration of fear, the uncanny and hallucination. (2014)


‘The Life Model’
BFI funded short documentary providing an account of the experiences of a woman who chooses to pose nude for life drawing classes. A personal recollection of experiences of having Bipolar Disorder and learning to live with it. (2013)


‘Halls’
Taking transcripts from real footage of living in first year halls, Lydia O’Hara directs actors in recreating those experiences for a performance at Chelsea College of Art and Design. (2012)


‘Amy Curtis at 21’
After finding 71 year old Amy Curtis through Age Concern, Lydia interviews her on her experiences of being 21 (the age of the artist at the time). After discovering Amy used to go dancing as often as possible, Lydia learns to dance and plays the role of Amy in some reconstructions of her memories. (2011)
